    I have absolutely felt burnout from constant empathizing with others. Dealing with other people's problems sort of "in concept" via compassion also leads to a more problem-solving oriented state of mind in my experience. I must say though that I have trouble shutting off that emotion instinct to empathize. Is there any good resource on how to emotionally detach from others you could recommend?

      I would suggest focusing on regulating our own reaction when others are sharing their experience rather than "shutting off" this way its easier to stay present and access compassion.
